Tuna time!

Bluefin

We head out yesterday with a trip for tuna.  The seas were beautiful for boating but not for fishing as it was a bit calm.  That didn’t stop the crew from hooking up. The action really turned on. Get into this while the get’in is good. Almost a giant 5″ short.  What a trill for the passengers on board.
We will be running tuna trips for the rest of the summer and fall, hope to see you then.

Kids Birthday Party

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

Had a birthday party onboard today and what a time was had.  We got the kids into the surface action that is going on in the harbor during the day.  Everyone caught their first Striped Bass.  There is some small Bluefish working with the bass schools on the bait.
The harbor looks like it is going to explode.  Bait everywhere.
We are seeing Big Striped Bass but can’t get them to take the baits.  The day time, like last year,  has them on a slower bite.

Here Fishy Fishy…

Fished this weekend hard. We went to 13 different spots, shallow and deep water. The fishing was great, but the catching was another story. We used live and chunk bait which proved to be futile. We were seeing fish in the deep water, but couldn’t get them to take the live baits.  For some reason Boston harbor is in a bit of a slow down.
We will keep at it and always fish hard.  Difficult fishing makes for a very enjoyable reward when catching.
Everyone onboard has rods in their hands, waiting for the reel to sing.
I do see small schools of surface action.
The chatter on the radio was much of the same as you read here.  Boats constantly on the move looking for fish.
We are fishing day time hours. The bite is very early morning.

No Bluefish.

Tuna time

We are running offshore for Tuna to Stellwagen Bank.  The bite for fish has been on with some giants being taken.  When we arrived there was a lot of life on the bank.  Lots of big Striped Bass feeding on sand eels.  Bluefish were also in the mix.
The tuna were elusive as we only saw one busting the surface.
Tuna trips are a big game sport fishing trip.  Hooking one of these fish could mean the fight of a life time.

Earn your Fish

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

I didn’t fish over the weekend, but reports are “the harbor seems to continue to be in a bit of a slow down.” “Fishing is tough.” Schoolies are feeding on the surface, but fishing for big fish is tough.

Fished Yesterday:
Yesterday was the first day that I spotted some big fish breaking the surface…could be the start of something good.

Everyone was great and fishing hard, but the bite was still slow.  Small fish. Check me out of Facebook to get more information.

The past few days we have been working hard to keep the customers on the fish.  Each trip has action and keepers for the grill, but we earned every fish that was caught.  Today was better than lately with some nice strong fighting fish, but I would still call the action slow and steady.  No really big stuff but we got keepers. The bite that we had from last week has slowed down.
Some feeding has been going on with schools of fish with surface action.  The surface action was there one second then gone the next.  We will be watching this.
We had some nice flounder on a morning trip.  Not crazy action, but steady.  I do see the flounder season end insight.

Superb Action

A foggy day on Boston harbor didn’t stop the fish from biting. What a day today. We caught and released around 40 fish today. Five keepers were kept so the customers could cook on them on the fourth.
Great fishing is going on right now!
