Boston Harbor Striped Bass Fishing Due to Explode!

May 29, 2012

The past week we have seen a steady flow of bait into the Boston harbor. With all the bait and the water temperatures rising, we are looking for striped bass fishing in Boston Massachusetts to explode. This past week we had some good action with nice size keepers coming over the rail. Some trips we found fishing to be easier than others. The morning trips are for the most part producing better than the afternoon. I recommend getting an early start. The earlier the better.

We have been starting these early trips running offshore jigging up mackerel. Mackerel is a fun fish to catch. We use the live mackerel as bait for striped bass.

The bass have been nice size fish. Mostly in the 34+ inch size range. There have been some smaller and some bigger ones. We did see our first signs of bluefish offshore this past weekend.

Bluefish offer an exciting battle for the anglers onboard. Earlier this week we had some great flounder fishing, with a nice cooler full of fish. Plan your flounder trip soon if you want to get into this action. The flounder action should remain hot until the beginning of July.

Any day, hour, or minute the striped bass fishing should explode in Boston harbor. Plan your trip soon to get into the action.
