Striped Bass and Flounder fishing Boston Harbor

May 24, 2012

The past several trips we have been fishing for Striped Bass and Flounder in Boston harbor and Quincy Bay. These are our inshore trips that run 4 or 6 hours. The action for Striped Bass has been good. There are fish in the harbor, but they seem to be in tight schools. If you find the fish then you can catch them big time. If we can’t then we have to hunt around our spots to locate the fish. The tide has a lot to do with the locations of fish also. Over the weekend our customers had some great Striped Bass action. There is plenty of bait in the harbor. This just means that fish feeding should explode any day now. The water temperatures are getting warmer.

We fished for Flounder the past couple of trips and the action was good. The weekend had superb flounder fishing with plenty of fish for everyone. It seems that the rain, overcast clouds and low pressure slowed the flounder down a bit this week. As the low pressure broke fishing started to get better. Our customers still had plenty of Flounder fillets for the table.
