Striped Bass fishing continues to be erratic. For example this week we slammed them one day, only to scrape by the next day. Then have a great day the following morning, and a slow day in the afternoon. This is what our season so far has to offer.

There a pockets of fish quickly feeding with bird activity above the feeding frenzy. When you get into that action the fishing is fast and furious. Then it’s over quickly and we are back to looking for fish. What we have found is to be persistent and patient, eventually the fish will be there.

Live bait was the bait of choice lately, we have started to more chucking and chumming also. There are bluefish starting to show up. We often will run offshore to see if the bluefish action is hot. Bluefish are a lot of fun to catch.
This is what makes me love fishing. The challenge, the anticipation, the screaming reel and the hook up. Someone once told me if fishing was constantly easy then you would loose the trill of victory.

The above post is 5 days old. I didn’t get a chance to post it. Now, the past few days the fish have come into Boston big time. The bass are feeding on the bait. How long will it last? I don’t know. It’s a good time to get into the action. This week I came up with a new saying….”If the fish are there I can catch them. If the fish are not there, I can’t.”
