This past weekend was one for the books with incredible fishing in Boston! The weather may have brought some clouds and rain, but that didn’t stop the action—striped bass were feeding and biting, and our customers enjoyed non-stop excitement on the water.
We landed a lot of striped bass, including some giant fish measuring in the mid-40 inch range! While the legal keep size for striped bass in Massachusetts is between 28 and 31 inches, we were able to get our guests on quality keepers to take home for the grill. Many of the larger bass were released to fight another day—great for the fishery and great for the memories.
When the seas allowed, we also made a run offshore for some Boston mackerel fishing, which turned out to be excellent. Mackerel are fun to catch and delicious to eat, making them a perfect bonus to a striped bass trip.
